Sexual Orientation
The limited information available suggests that around 1 in 20 people in the UK are lesbian, gay or bisexual – but the real figure may be significantly higher. Many openly LGB people face bullying, harassment and discrimination in their daily lives, and many more are fearful of coming out to colleagues and employers for fear of discrimination. This has a huge potential impact on the well-being, performance and engagement of LGB people in the workplace.
The Equality Act outlaws discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation against employees and job seekers, and in the provision of goods and services. This course uses a powerful combination of original drama, first-person stories and expert analysis to show how to work successfully with LGB customers and colleagues and create a fair and tolerant working environment where everyone is treated with respect.
