Diversity Challenge
Diversity means celebrating difference and affording everyone the same respect and value – regardless of things like age, ethnicity or disability. Developed with leading occupational psychology practice Pearn Kandola, this course
looks at the practicalities of managing diversity in the workplace and the benefits that a diverse workforce can bring.
Sexual Orientation
The limited information available suggests that around 1 in 20 people in the UK are lesbian, gay or bisexual – but the real figure may be significantly higher. Many openly LGB people face bullying, harassment and discrimination in their daily lives, and many more are fearful of coming out to colleagues and employers for fear of discrimination. This has a huge potential impact on the well-being, performance and engagement of LGB people in the workplace.
The Equality Act outlaws discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation against employees and job seekers, and in the provision of goods and services. This course uses a powerful combination of original drama, first-person stories and expert analysis to show how to work successfully with LGB customers and colleagues and create a fair and tolerant working environment where everyone is treated with respect.
Supporting Trans and Non-binary People at Work a Guide for Managers
Knowing how to support your trans and non-binary staff and create a respectful and safe environment for them is key to promoting their own personal well-being and ensuring that your organisation manages to harness and nurture the very best talent. Using a mix of original drama, personal testimony and legal analysis, together with an in-depth case study featuring leading UK insurance company LV=, this short course provides an essential toolkit for managers in managing and supporting trans and non-binary staff at all levels of an organisation.
Understanding Equality Impact Assessments
An Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) will help you analyse your policies and practices to make sure they do not discriminate against or disadvantage people and that they promote equality in your organisation. Integrated, cyclical EIAs are a highly effective means of enabling organisations to benchmark progress in matching their policies’ actual equality outcomes to their goals.
